Christine Gilbert



Christine Gilbert CBE speaks frankly about her career from being a headteacher turning around a school to directing school improvements across local authorities.

Estelle Morris and Christine also talk about the recent issues faced in her current position as chief inspector at Ofsted.

Christine spent 18 years in teaching, eight of those as a headteacher, before taking up the post of director of education in Harrow. She joined the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in 1997 as corporate director of education, then held the post of chief executive for six years before joining Ofsted.
