Wangari Maathai - A Life in Conservation

Internationally acclaimed Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai gives a captivating account of her extraordinary life's work to an audience at the RSA.

With humour and humility she relates her life story, which began from humble roots in rural Kenya, and describes how some of Africa's most disadvantaged women significantly improved their environment. She challenges her audience to get involved at all levels against environmental degradation, crippling debt in the developing world, corruption and poverty.

A group of inspired teachers gather after the talk to think about ways in which they can take these messages back into their schools.
