National Space Centre

mediumblue

Summary

The National Space Centre in Leicester is the only UK Millennium Science Centre devoted entirely to space and space exploration.

In this programme, we see a Year 7 class visit the centre to participate in a simulated space mission, taking on the roles of space station astronauts and ground-based mission controllers.

Led by the centre's resident education staff, the children are asked to rendezvous with and investigate a comet.

In the process they have to sharpen their inter-personal communication skills, deal with emergencies and perform some basic science experiments.
